Finding and booking a party room in Hong Kong has always been a fragmented experience. You scroll through scattered Instagram posts, message owners on WhatsApp, and hope the time slot you want isn't already taken. There's no unified place to browse, compare, and book — until now.

Roomigo is a purpose-built platform that connects party-goers with verified room owners across Hong Kong. Think of it as Agoda, but for hourly party room rentals.

The Problem

Hong Kong's party room market is massive but wildly disorganized:

  • Scattered listings — rooms are advertised across social media, forums, and word-of-mouth with no central directory.
  • No real-time availability — you have to message an owner and wait to find out if your preferred time is free.
  • Double bookings — without a proper system, overlapping reservations happen more often than they should.
  • No price transparency — pricing varies by day, time, and duration, and is rarely displayed upfront.

How Roomigo Works

For Party-Goers

  1. Browse & Search — Filter rooms by district (all 18 HK districts supported), date, and group size.
  2. Check Availability — See real-time slot availability with clear pricing for weekdays vs. weekends/holidays.
  3. Book Instantly — Select your time slots, confirm your details, and lock in your booking.
  4. Pay Your Way — Pay the owner directly via FPS, PayMe, Bank Transfer, Alipay HK, or cash on arrival.
  5. Upload Proof — Submit your payment proof through the platform; the owner verifies and confirms.

The entire flow — from browsing to confirmed booking — takes minutes, not days of back-and-forth messaging.

For Room Owners

  • List your space with photos, amenities, capacity, location, and custom pricing tiers.
  • Set booking rules — minimum/maximum hours, advance booking window, overnight availability.
  • Manage multiple payment methods with clear instructions for guests.
  • Verify payments and manage bookings from a dedicated owner dashboard.
  • Block time slots for private events or maintenance with a few clicks.

What Makes Roomigo Different

No Double Bookings — Guaranteed

This isn't just a listing site. Roomigo uses database-level locking (SELECT FOR UPDATE) to ensure that two people can never book the same time slot. When you confirm a booking, the slot is atomically reserved — no race conditions, no surprises.

Transparent Pricing

Owners define pricing tiers (weekday vs. weekend/holiday, different time blocks), and the platform calculates the exact cost before you commit. No hidden fees, no guesswork.

10-Minute Payment Window

Once you create a booking, you have 10 minutes to complete payment. If the window expires, the slot is released back to the pool. This keeps availability accurate and prevents ghost bookings from hogging time slots.

Verified Owners, Secure Platform

Every room listing goes through an approval process before it's published. All data access is enforced through Row Level Security — users can only see and modify what they're authorized to. Every mutation flows through authenticated server-side functions with full input validation.

Built for Hong Kong

Roomigo is bilingual (English and Traditional Chinese) and designed mobile-first — because most users in Hong Kong will be browsing and booking from their phones. Payment methods are all local: FPS, PayMe, bank transfer, Alipay HK, WeChat Pay HK, and cash.

Under the Hood

For the technically curious:

  • Frontend: Next.js 15 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Supabase — PostgreSQL with RLS, Edge Functions (Deno), Auth, and Storage
  • Security: JWT authentication (ES256), role-based access control (User / Owner / Admin / Super Admin), server-side validation on all writes
  • Infra: Supabase Edge Functions handle all business logic; the frontend is read-only against the database
